2025 Update - The Best Free Creative Resources for Non-Profits
In 2025, creating compelling visual content has never been more accessible, even for not-for-profits and charities with limited budgets.
I previously curated a blog post showcasing some incredible free creative resources. Over the years, even more fantastic tools have emerged, offering fresh options that are perfect for today’s needs. These resources are invaluable for adding a touch of creativity and flair to your not-for-profit marketing campaigns. Best of all? They’re completely free!
Check them out below:
Free Photography Resources
When searching for images for marketing campaigns, many people instinctively turn to Google Images. However, most of these images lack a Creative Commons license, meaning you must be cautious about how you use them. Thankfully, there are plenty of free stock image websites that offer royalty-free images for commercial use. Some of my favorites, as I’ve mentioned before, include Unsplash, Pexels, and Nappy.
But here are a few more great options you might not have heard of:
Offers a range of images as well as illustrations, videos and more. You can also import the images straight into Canva to edit.
Has a diverse selection of images, photos, vectors, clipart and icons (can also be downloaded as PSD files) perfect for adding to your campaigns.
This site has lots of modern photography, as well as a handy tool where you can search by your chosen colour palette.
Free Illustration Resources
Illustrations can be a fantastic way to enhance marketing materials, adding visual interest and effectively conveying information. While some of my go-to resources include Noun Project, Open Peeps, Undraw, and IonIcons, here are a few additional options that are equally impressive:
DrawKit offers hand-drawn 2D & 3D illustrations, icons and animations. These can add a really unique look to any project.
With Ira Design, you can customise illustrations to suit your branding needs by changing the colours and scenery of any sample illustration.
Similar to Ira Design, Blush also allows you to customise illustrations by adjusting colours, characters, and backgrounds to match your style. With contributions from artists worldwide, it offers high-quality, unique illustrations to enhance your designs.
Free Fonts
Fonts available in certain programs can sometimes be restrictive, which may limit your creative options. Having access to free resources for discovering additional fonts can significantly enhance the visual appeal of your materials. By exploring a wider variety of font styles, you can better tailor the design to match your intended tone and audience, making your content more engaging and visually striking.
Free Faces
This website is a curated collection of typefaces that are available under a variety of free licences.
1001 Free Fonts
As the name suggests, this site has plenty of free fonts of varying different styles.
Font Space
Font Space has lots of designer-centered, legitimate, and clearly licensed free fonts.
Free Stock Video Content
Pixabay
Pixabay has lots of beautifully shot videos of varying lengths that can be used across different platforms.
Pexels
As well as free images, Pexels also allows you to download free video clips of different lengths and styles.
Videvo
Videvo has a great variation of videos and if there is something specific you would like then there is a premium option.
I hope you find these free creative resources helpful for your future marketing campaigns or publications!
Please note – all websites listed provide free resources at the time of publishing. I recommend checking the licencing information for all assets before downloading, to ensure correct usage.
